Day Eight of our West Coast Road Trip: Leaving Vegas for a Starry Night in the Desert

LAS VEGAS – PAHRUMP, NV

HEY STRANGERS!

Hey there, folks! It’s Jake and Georgia, and we’re back to share our Day Eight adventures on this epic West Coast road trip. So, here’s the scoop: this morning, we woke up in our comfy Paris hotel in Las Vegas.

First things first – coffee! We swung by Starbucks to fuel up. Then, we thought, “Hey, why not try our luck at roulette?” Well, we had a rollercoaster ride – we won, and then we lost it all again. Classic Vegas, right?

After our gambling escapade, we hit the famous Vegas Strip for some grub. Our taste buds landed us at New York New York for some delicious crepes. But we didn’t stop there – we had a sweet tooth, so we checked out the Hershey Chocolate World store and devoured a massive Hershey s’more. Talk about a sugar rush!

With our hunger satisfied, we strolled back to our hotel in Paris, waving goodbye to the glitzy lights of the Strip. Our next stop was the Premium Outlets, where we shopped until we dropped.

Our plan to visit Fremont Street hit a snag because there were two festivals and a football game happening in Vegas, and parking was a no-go. So, we made a quick decision to head to our Airbnb in Pahrump, Nevada, just outside Death Valley. There, we met our awesome clear stargazing dome for the night.

As I write this, I’m gazing up at the sky, surrounded by stars, in the middle of a vast desert landscape. It’s quiet and absolutely stunning.

Tomorrow’s a big driving day as we cruise through Nevada, making our way to Yosemite National Park. Originally, we wanted to visit Death Valley, but it’s closed until late 2025 due to a recent hurricane.
