Are you heading to the Disneyland Resort and in need of some budget friendly, high quality accommodation? Welcome to Hotel Lulu!
Hotel Lulu – anaheim, california
HEY STRANGERS!
Back in September 2022 we booked ourselves into Hotel Lulu for 4 nights, but was the bang worth the buck?
During our Disneyland trip in September 2022, we were looking at the different on-site hotels surrounding the theme parks. Disneyland’s Resorts are extremely expensive and in some cases they’re further away from the parks than some of the off-site offerings.
When booking a local hotel in the Disneyland area you’re going to be looking for a reasonable price, good quality, good reviews and reasonable distance from the theme parks. After scrolling through numerous comparison websites, we noticed that the Hotel Lulu was a repeat recommendation. So, we looked into it a little more…

The Hotel
Hotel Lulu opened in May 2021 as a fully reimagined, renovated hotel right across the street from Disneyland. The hotel aims to offer a welcoming and playful, quintessentially Californian experience by embodying the laidback Cali aesthetics with a modern twist.
Upon arrival, the hotel has funky bell carts available, vibrant murals on the walls and during check-in, we were offered a free, really nice (really strong), fruity cocktail which could have been redeemed at any point during the stay.
The hotel is split into two towers, the second one, where we stayed was accessible from the main building through a gardened courtyard. The two towers share the same aesthetics and feature fun Disney inspired artwork on the hallway walls, including character’s swimming costumes which matches the beach theme seen throughout the hotel!
The room was clean and felt fresh and modern. The white walls and pops of colour made the whole space give off beach vibes and the Disney details in the hallways complimented the cheery atmosphere. You could tell the furnishings, linens and appliances had been replaced or refreshed recently.
The employees we interacted with were helpful and friendly, although they did seem a little flustered upon our arrival. In credit to them it was later in the evening with guests everywhere, coming and going from the theme parks. We still felt valued and looked after during check in and felt if we needed to go to the desk for anything, we would have been sufficiently assisted.
Disneyland is right across the street with Hotel Lulu located by the back corner of Disney California Adventure. The walk is approximately 7-10 minutes with two crossings to make over Harbour and Katella. On the way to the park you will pass an iHop which is right next to the hotel and besides that, the Hyatt Place hotel has a Starbucks location and Blaze pizza for your early morning coffee and an evening pizza! The direct area around Hotel Lulu also includes a Walgreens, 7/11 and CVS.
Hotel Lulu is also a Disneyland Good Neighbour hotel, meaning it checks Disney’s boxes in terms of high standard, value and convenience!

Was It Worth It?
We believe the Hotel Lulu was worth the money. With the proximity to the theme parks it isn’t a cheap stay but looking around at other hotels, no matter the quality of the property, it’s not cheap in Anaheim, California.
If you’re looking for a high quality, welcoming, great location with all the resort necessities and a reasonable price then we think Hotel Lulu is definitely one to add to your list of possible hotels!
Every hotel in the Disneyland area has pros and cons regarding amenities, location, price and quality so always do your research to find the hotel that suits your needs but all in all, this hotel is one we look at every time we’re planning a Disneyland trip.
